With the latest technical developments and Pryolave’s traditional expertise, a work surface or counter no longer has to be flat, but can undulate, become a statement piece, or slot discreetly into its surroundings. The lava’s thickness ranges from 10 mm to over 200 mm, depending on the project and dimensions. Pyrolave enamelled lava is one of the few materials to offer such possibilities.
As with every handmade product, it’s unique. Variations are part and parcel of the product: grain effects, non-uniformities, slight dots or marks… these are all part of the results that give each piece its own character. These little details could be mistaken for defects when the item arrives, but they’re quite the opposite. They’re actually proof of the authentic craftsmanship behind it, at every stage of its creation: natural stone, high-temperature firing, how the enamel responds, and the work done by hand.
