Origin of lava
Born from the depths of the Earth and shaped by time and elements, lava transformed into stone is our fundamental material. The Volvic lava stone is a natural material extracted from the Nugère quarries in the heart of the Auvergne Volcanoes Regional Natural Park. It embodies all the nobility and power of nature.
Initially used in its raw form for iconic constructions such as cathedrals and fountains, Volvic lava stone is renowned for its remarkable durability.
Later, in its enameled form, it became iconic. Adorned with colors and inscriptions, it long remained a reference for signage, including its use for the original Paris Metro “Metropolitan” plaques.
Today, enameled lava is synonymous with luxury, refinement, and character for exceptional and fully custom projects.
