Atelier 1907: Architectural precision meets enameled lava

In the heart of Germany, Agnès Morguet, architect and founder of Atelier 1907,, has designed a space in her own image: refined, functional, and thoughtfully minimalist. For her kitchen-studio — a true living and creative space — she chose Pyrolave to craft a bespoke worktop and sink in enameled lava, in a soft and luminous Opaline shade.

Raw material, the lavastone, mastered with elegance

Crafted from lava stone sourced from the Auvergne volcanoes and hand-enameled in our Castelsarrasin workshops, the material brings both strength and softness. The Opaline tone, with its subtle blue reflections, softens the bold architectural lines of the space, offering a calm contrast to the warm wood and brass finishes.

A project designed by an architect, for an architect

This project is unique in that it was designed by and for a spatial professional. Every edge, joint and colour choice was made with intention. The collaboration between Agnès Morguet and Pyrolave resulted in a kitchen that is both highly functional and aesthetically timeless — a true embodiment of contemporary living.

A space between home and studio

Atelier 1907 is more than a workspace. It’s a place for hosting, experimenting, and gathering. In this hybrid, creative environment, enameled lava emerges as the perfect link between craftsmanship and architecture, strength and poetry.
