Nijo Castle Kyoto, Japan

Bespoke Glazed Lava Stone Tables for an Exceptional Hospitality Project

At the heart of Nijo Castle Kyoto, every detail has been carefully designed to create a refined welcome experience. For this project, Pyrolave crafted a collection of bespoke glazed lava stone tables, specially designed for the reception areas.

The collection comprises 38 square tables and 8 round tables, crafted in a custom-developed color created through a dedicated color research process specifically for the project. Blending luminous golden yellow with warm amber tones, this bespoke shade harmonizes with the project’s material palette and enhances the atmosphere of the space.

Framed by an elegant metal edge, each table softly captures the light, bringing a warm, luminous, and contemporary presence that blends seamlessly with the timeless elegance of Japanese architecture.

Glazed Lava Stone Furniture Designed for Luxury Hospitality

Custom-made in our French workshops, these tables demonstrate Pyrolave’s expertise in supporting architects, interior designers, and design professionals in bringing exceptional projects to life.

Thanks to its non-porous surface and exceptional resistance to scratches, impacts, heat, UV exposure, and cleaning products, glazed lava stone perfectly meets the demands of public and hospitality spaces. It combines outstanding technical performance with unlimited creative freedom through the bespoke color research developed by Pyrolave.

Pyrolave Expertise in the Service of Bespoke Design

Crafted from Volvic lava stone, each table is shaped and hand-glazed in our workshops using a traditional craftsmanship process perfected over more than forty years.

The natural crazing of the glaze gives each piece a unique visual depth. As the light changes, the material reveals subtle variations in color, giving every creation a distinctive and timeless character.

A Meeting of Japanese Heritage, French Craftsmanship, and Contemporary Design

With this project for Nijo Castle Kyoto, Pyrolave once again demonstrates its ability to transform glazed lava stone into an exceptional architectural material for the world’s most prestigious hospitality projects.

This collaboration brings together the elegance of Japanese heritage, French craftsmanship, and contemporary design. Each table integrates seamlessly into its surroundings, helping to create an environment that is warm, refined, and built to last.
