A Contemporary Space with Distinct Character
In the heart of Seynod, near Annecy, this project designed by Mad by Meia reflects the perfect balance between modern minimalism and authentic materials.
In this open kitchen, the Anthracite enamelled lava crafted by Pyrolave sets the tone — elegant, deep, and timeless.
The Mineral Elegance of Anthracite
A signature of refined design, the Anthracite shade reveals the natural depth and subtle variations of the Volvic lava stone.
Under soft daylight, the enamel’s glossy surface unveils grey and bluish undertones, creating a sophisticated and serene atmosphere.
Paired with natural walnut cabinetry and dark ceramic flooring, this kitchen finds the perfect balance between warmth and contemporary elegance.
Pyrolave Craftsmanship: The Art of Fire and Stone
Each element of this kitchen was custom-made in the Pyrolave workshops in Castelsarrasin (southwest France), using lava sourced from the Volvic region.
The material is poured, shaped, and hand-enamelled before being vitrified at extremely high temperatures to achieve exceptional durability and shine.
This artisanal process embodies the union of heritage and innovation, giving each piece a unique and enduring character.
An Inspired Collaboration
This project, led by Mad by Meia, illustrates the dialogue between design and craftsmanship.
The architect used the Anthracite tone to structure space and highlight the warmth of wood, creating a kitchen that feels both intimate and sophisticated.
