Sea Containers House, London, England

Glazed lavastone that makes your spaces vibrate

Sea Containers House is a project that perfectly illustrates how Pyrolave transforms spaces using glazed lavastone. For the London headquarters of Ogilvy Group UK, our teams collaborated with BDG Architecture & Design to bring color, elegance, and functionality to bars and common areas.

The magic of color

Pyrolave was chosen for its unique ability to combine strength, durability, and aesthetics. For the top-floor bar, our artisans created a series of panels featuring a color gradient inspired by the London sunset, from soft yellow to deep red, in custom colors. Each shade was carefully tested to ensure a seamless transition, a meticulous process that required several rounds of samples and the full expertise of our teams.

Beyond the “sunset” bar, we also supplied a Sequoia counter with Tilleul wood panels and six “grab & go” counters that combine practicality and elegance. Each piece showcases Pyrolave’s expertise in transforming lava into sculptural and functional surfaces.

A creative collaboration

The project was marked by great creative freedom and constant dialogue with the architects. A memorable anecdote: during the installation of the bar panels, the team decided to play with the color arrangement to create a more vibrant, less rigid effect, highlighting our ability to adapt our designs to the aesthetic choices of the designers.

Sea Containers House illustrates how Pyrolave transforms ideas into unique surfaces, combining beauty, technology, and innovation. Each project becomes an opportunity for us to showcase our mastery of enameled lava and our passion for custom design.
